Forest for Future Generations

The Forest for Future Generations is an EU Staff for Climate initiative created in 2022. Its purpose is to empower environmentally minded EU staff members by giving them a quick and easy option to radically change the future of a degraded agricultural area.

Environmental activism is frequently about reacting to events that are beyond our direct control, often without the outcomes that the activists hoped for. If the results of a project are disproportionate to the emotional commitment put into them, this creates disappointment and frustration.

With the Forest for Future Generations, EU Staff for Climate wants to provide the environmentalist with an opportunity to make a difference and see proportionate results for their contribution and commitment to a state-of-the-art biodiverse forest.

We invite all EU staff members to be co-creators of this forest.

The first 2,000 m2 forest area was created in March 2023 as part of a larger 20,000 m2 project in Romania. The plan is to create similar forests in every EU Member State.
